Upcoming Hawai‘i Supreme Court Hearing: Nitta v. HMSA – June 10

On Tuesday, June 10 at 10:30 a.m., the Hawai‘i Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Nitta v. HMSA—a case with significant implications for provider contracts, insurer practices, and access to care across Hawai‘i.
The case, brought by Dr. Fred Nitta and others, challenges HMSA’s coverage denials and contract provisions that plaintiffs argue are “oppressive” and limit clinical autonomy.
