2024 HAPN Leadership Award Winner Announcement

The HAPN Leadership Award was started in 2009 to recognize nurses who have demonstrated significant and exceptional leadership qualities and who have made a positive impact in Hawaii. The winner of the 2024 HAPN Leadership Award goes to Dr. Miki Miura. Dr. Miki Miura was selected for this award because she consistently demonstrates excellence in clinical practice and leadership. She not only provides high quality care to her patients but has advanced the role of nurse practitioners in healthcare. She has also addressed the needs of underserved and rural communities across Hawaii. Dr. Miura’s leadership and advocacy were nationally recognized when she received the AANP State Award for Excellence this year. Her involvement with the JANP project has fostered a deeper understanding of healthcare disparities. She has dedicated herself to mentoring Nurse Practitioner students inspiring the next generation to provide compassionate and effective healthcare.
