Target Audience and Goal Statement
This activity is intended for cardiologists, primary care clinicians, diabetologists and endocrinologists, and nurses.
The goal of this activity is to improve the appropriate use of PCSK9 inhibitors in patients with high cardiovascular (CV) risk or cardiovascular disease.
Upon completion of this activity, participants will:
- Have increased knowledge regarding the
- Identification of patients who are at high and very high CV risk
- Gaps in the comprehensive management of lipid-lowering treatment to reduce CV risk
- Have greater competence related to
- Patient selection for team-based PCSK9 inhibitor use as appropriate add-on therapy for additional low-density lipoprotein cholesterol lowering and CV risk reduction
