URGENT Action Alert (SB 839: Our Care, Our Choice Act)

Posted over 4 years ago

From our community partner related to the Our Care, Our Choice Act to include APRNs in medical aide in dying.

Aloha,

We need your immediate help. After passing out of the Senate 21 to 4, the House assigned SB 839 to 4 committees. There is not enough time for SB 839 to be heard in 4 committees, so this would effectively kill the bill. We need to urge House leadership today to reassign the bill to fewer committees, so it has a chance to be heard.

  1. Please email and/or call the following House leadership TODAY and let them know that SB 839 needs to be reassigned to the appropriate committees, so it can be given a fair chance to pass:

Rep. Della Au Belatti: repbelatti@capitol.hawaii.gov, 808-586-9425

Rep. John Mizuno: repmizuno@capitol.hawaii.gov, 808-586-6050

Rep. Dee Moriwaki: repmorikawa@capitol.hawaii.gov, 808-586-6280

Rep. Scott Saiki: repsaiki@capitol.hawaii.gov, 808-586-6100

  1. Please also email your own representatives and ask them to urge House leadership to reassign SB 839. Click here to easily email them.

Thank you for your advocacy. The bill would not have gotten this far without your active support. We are doing everything we can to get SB 839 reassigned.

Mahalo,
Sam
