Hawaii Association of Professional Nurses

Update from HAPN President

Posted almost 5 years ago

Aloha current and former members of HAPN,

Thank-you all for your active participation in committees, networking, and educational activities. This has been quite the interesting year with a pandemic, a presidential election, global warming, and whatever else is causing anxiety, depression, and fear. As nurses, we are trained specifically to be "high-tech, high-touch," although this year the touch is metaphorical to some degree.

Membership dues are $80/year and renew annually on the date of your next payment since we have instituted Webhosting with the ENP Network. Please click here if you would like to update your membership status and personal information:

I am assert that each day, you are a source of information, reassurance, and resilience in both your professional and personal life.

Because the stakes are so high this year, and because so many sources are clamoring for your attention, I implore you to participate in this year's election, bylaw revision approval, and HAPN Leadership Award selection.

We are submitting a major by-law revision that requires approval from the entire membership during the Annual Election. The content will be made available at least 30 days before the November meeting as required. I would like to thank Allen Novak for his stalwart stewardship of both the bylaws and the membership manager position, essentially since the inception of our organization. Thanks to member Amy Stone Murai for spearheading the current update.

Because this is an "even year," we will be voting for President-elect & Directors-at-large. Ballots will be sent out by the nominating committee by the October meeting of the BOD. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED in participating in the nominating committee, please contact me at: info@hapnhawaii.org.

THIS WEEK, we will be sending out a Needs Assessment that takes fewer than 5 minutes to complete, even for those of us who have technology challenges. If you are having difficulty with the Needs Assessment form, please email a short description of the issue to the address above.

Finally, thank-you to the members of HAPN who have been working tirelessly to keep our organization moving forward during these disturbing and unprecedented times.

Very respectfully,

JP Moses, President
