COVID-19 TESTING

Posted about 4 years ago by John Paul Moses

The Office of the Lt. Governor will be announcing the ability to test for COVID-19 in populations that are symptomatic and correlate exposure history to symptoms that are consistent with this viral infection.

Providers are asked to use a PCR swab if available, otherwise, flu A/B swabs are acceptable. If negative for flu, Clinical labs will be accepting specimens and transporting them to a facility on the mainland. A turnaround time of appx 3-4 days is anticipated.

A lower threshold for testing samples from HEALTHCARE or TOURISM workers is encouraged.

Interesting. Healthcare professionals in the mainland are reporting they are not being provided with the kits for testing. I hope we can proceed with caution in critically evaluating hype from facts.
